Xala’s primary goal is to restore vegetation in affected areas using local plant species, maintaining environmental balance. Through reforestation and restoration efforts, Xala preserves ecosystem connectivity in jungles, forests, wetlands, and dunes. This program helps reclaim degraded deciduous forest patches, providing soil protection, climate regulation, and water harvesting.
Xala is actively reforesting 590 acres, representing 21% of Xala, contributing to vegetation recovery and protecting local fauna. Reforestation creates habitats and improves conditions for regional wildlife, increasing species reproduction and revitalizing the sacred land affected by loss or damage.
Collecting endemic species’ seeds supports their reproduction and reforestation, aiding the recovery of declining tree populations. By establishing fertility islands, Xala facilitates the growth of native species and initiates regeneration of the surrounding lowland deciduous forest ecosystem impacted near Xala.
At each opportunity, Xala will promote the use of renewable energy including the use of solar panels, encouraging guests to reuse hotel towels and linens, and reusing organic waste.
